Alcohol and Other Drugs - Western Australian

Here are some other local services if a friend or family member wants information or help with their drug use.  Often violence accompanies alcohol and other drug abuse so there are some other services listed to support people if there has been violence.

Domestic Violence - Men's Help Line

9223 1199 or free call 1800 000 599; state wide 24 hr service  - You may care about a person who wants to learn other ways of dealing with things than through violence;  provides counselling for men who are concerned about becoming violent or abusive. The service can provide phone counselling & information & referral to on going face to face services.


Domestic Violence - Women's Help Line

9223 1188; Free call 1800 007 339; 24 hour service  - provides support and counselling for women experiencing family and domestic violence. This includes phone counselling, information and advice, referral to local advocacy and support services, liaison with police if necessary and support in escaping situations of family and domestic violence. The service can refer women to safe accommodation if required.


Family Crisis Support Program

9245 2441  - A 24 hour service for families with children.  Crisis Support Services for families with an unexpected crisis that requires emergency care of their children. This could be due to a parent becoming ill, a sudden family crisis or similar.


Family Drug Support

1300 368 186  - A 24-hour drug counselling line providing information and appropriate support to families.


Meth Helpline

Poisons Information Centre (Western Aaustralia)

13 1126 - For information about drugs that someone may be overdosing with, poisons or other unusual substances that a person has in their system, what to do to help the person through the medical emergency, offer advice on side affects from medication and animal bites.

13 78 48  -  13 QUIT - A confidential telephone based service designed to help smokers quit smoking.  


SARC (Sexual Assault Resource Centre)

24-Hour Crisis line - 9340 1828 - A registered nurse takes the call, for those over 13 years of age where sexual assault or abuse has happened; 24 Hour SARC Counselling Line - 9340 1899.
