Fees and Payment

Standard Fee

$200* per 50 minute appointment regardless of whether it is an individual, couple or family session;

Note: some couples prefer a 75 minute session (fee $300)

(note: the schedule of recommended professional fees listed by AASW the professional body to which the therapist belongs recommends a rate of $270/session for individual sessions, and for couple/family therapy).

This service strives to keep counselling affordable.

Clinical Supervision Fee

For therapists in paid practice or for student counsellors the supervision fee is $100 per 50 minute session.  (Please note: the schedule of professional fees recommended by the professional body to which the therapist belongs recommends a rate of $195 for clinical supervision).

Fee for Letters/Reports

The actual recommended fee by the AASW is charged for letters and reports ($270). Longer reports will cost an additional fee.

For corporate reports please note letters or reports are only offered when it has been agreed prior to commencement of the first session and if the client is a current client at the time of the report being completed.

Forms of Payment

DIRECT DEPOSIT the morning of, or at the beginning of a visit is preferred; (bank details will be in the reminder email; alternatively ask Owen for bank details; and please place your name in 'payment 'description').  Payment with EXACT CASH is also an option.

Cancellation Fee

Both of us have skills for which we like to be rewarded.  If you wish to cancel an appointment without 2 working days lead time somebody else in desperate need misses out, you miss out and I miss out.  Therefore a cancellation fee (50% of the full-fee-rate) may be charged plus postage and handling costs if you do not provide a working email address) and if you reschedule or cancel with less than 2 working days notice.  (NB: this fee is not claimable with Medicare.)  No charge is made if more than 48 hours notice is given (2 working days).

The counsellor is a visiting professional to the centres where you see him/her.  The counsellor has no way of scheduling another client with late notice and so has no income from the cancelled appointment.  Your courtesy will avoid the necessity for a cancellation fee.

Concession

Concession rate reduces the fee to $150 each session if a current Pension Card or Health Card is displayed at the appointment.
